CBS Local 2 Chief Meteorologist and Host of Eye on the Desert
Patrick hails from Charlottesville, Virginia, where he started working his first television job at the age of 17. While attending the University of Virginia, Patrick studied Environmental Sciences, Communications and Political Science. During his final year of college, he became the weekend weatherman at WVIR, then after graduation, he moved to the morning newscast, and later that year, he took over Noon, 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM broadcasts. In late 1990, Patrick moved to CBS affiliate WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Virginia.

He wore many hats at WDBJ, from weather to features to hosting a high school quiz show. He got the opportunity to cover events all over the country, including the 2000 NCAA National Championship football game and other bowl games. Patrick also traveled internationally, covering Dr. Robert Ballard’s “Jason Project” with a trek to Peru, broadcasting live from the jungles along the Amazon River.
In 2000, Patrick fulfilled a lifelong desire to move West, arriving in Orange County, California to become Chief Meteorologist at the Orange County Newschannel. In August 2002 , Patrick moved to the Palm Springs area to take a position with new Coachella Valley CBS affiliate, where he’s served as on air meteorologist for nearly 2 decades. CBS was acquired by KESQ News Channel 3 in 2012, and merged operations in 2018, Patrick is now the Morning & Noon Meteorologist and Host of Eye on the Desert. He, of course, also hosts afternoons from 2-6pm on CV 104.3 FM.
Outside of work, Patrick and his wife Andrea love to travel with her two daughters, and take care of their two rescue dachshunds Guinness and Ryan. In April of 2014, Patrick was the 366th recipient of a Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars as a result of his work with philanthropic organizations throughout the Valley.
A longtime devotee of Frank Sinatra, on occasion Patrick can be spotted at various spots around the Valley, crooning a few tunes with local musicians. Another passion is food: Patrick started an Italian Sausage company named Fulvio’s Foods, in honor of his late father, Fulvio Antonio Iachetta, which is served in dozens restaurants throughout the Valley.
